TOPIC: Panic! At The Disco - "The Ballad of Mona Lisa"

Panic! At The Disco - "The Ballad of Mona Lisa" 1 year 3 months ago #606

The newest single from P!ATD was released earlier this month and its video is overtly Steampunk themed.
What do you think of mainstream bands like them embracing Steampunk?
What did you think of the aesthetics themselves?

I personally think the costume and prop designers did a pretty good job!

I really enjoyed the video, and I'm excited to see Steampunk becoming more mainstream. The more Steampunk projects that are created, the better! Wouldn't it be great if you were running into Victorian dressed folks on every street corner, and saw Steampunk-themed vehicles driving down the street? I can dream, right?

We can all dream of that!

I, too, enjoyed this video! I have always been a fan of P!ATD and thought they have always been unique and theatrical in the concepts for their music videos. It's really cool to see Steampunk being embraced by such mainstream musicians and letting people that might not had any clue about it to get a taste of it. Hopefully this way of thinking spreads!

I agree, it's a well put together video.
Even though I am not a fan of their music, I have always found every aspect of this band to be very aesthetically pleasing :}
