Steampunk Night @ Alamo Drafthouse
The San Antonio Neo-Victorian Association is ever so proud to present Steampunk Night at the Alamo Drafthouse Park North! Join us, Steampunk or not, for this magical evening of wonder and bedazzlement which we host every second Thursday of the every month with a new Steampunk visual experience! With Steampunks from all over the Texas community showing up (dressing up encouraged!) and the film itself, it would almost be an absolute crime to miss out on what promises to be an amazing evening!

Our film for this evening is Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow, an aesthetically pleasing jump into the Dieselpunk genre. With its giant robots, zeppelin bases, and dashing ace fighter pilots, this movie is clearly full of pulpy goodness. Starring Jude Law as the dashing and brave Sky Captain, Gwyneth Paltrow as an intrepid American reporter, Angelina Jolie as the very British head of a literally flying fortress, this movie will keep you on the edge of your seat as your root for Sky Captain and his friends against the dastardly Dr. Totenkopf (played by the late Lawrence Olivier!).
This film starts at 7:00, but as this is the Drafthouse and a very special night indeed, we ask that you arrive anywhere from 45 minutes to a hour before the actual start of the movie. With the on-screen pre-show, the fantastic outfits, and whatever else we pull from our sleeves, you'll have tons to experience before the actual film itself! If you would like to perform at our Steampunk Nights and/or are a Steampunk luminary wishing your presence announced, do let us know and we will contact you. Again, to all our dear attendees, dressing up is heavily encouraged and we hope you have as much fun as we will on this upcoming evening of wonder and Steampunk!
Don't forget to get your tickets! While this is a free show, you will need to go to the box office to get a free ticket to see the movie. Also, AetherFest tickets will be for sale at this Steampunk Night, so get yours there!
